Get up and go breakfast smoothie

Smoothies are a great addition to a balanced breakfast. This recipe includes a full serving of fruit and yogurt, as well as fibre.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup 2% plain yogurt, divided 375 mL
1 cup frozen mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and/or strawberries) 250 mL
1/4 cup natural wheat bran 50 mL
2 tbsp sliced almonds (optional) 25 mL
4 tsp liquid honey 20 mL

Instructions

Step 1
In a blender, purée half the yogurt, along with berries, bran, almonds (if using) and honey until smooth; add remaining yogurt and pulse until blended. Pour into chilled glasses or travel cups and serve immediately.
