Lentil Chili

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef 500 g
medium onion, chopped
garlic clove, minced
1 can (19 oz) tomato sauce 1 can (540 ml)
1 cup green lentils, cooked or canned 250 ml
1 can (10 oz) whole mushrooms, drained 1 can (284 ml)
1/2 cup water 125 ml
1 Tbsp chili powder 15 ml
1/2 tsp black pepper 2 ml
1 Tbsp white vinegar 15 ml

Instructions

Step 1
In a heavy skillet, brown beef with onion and garlic. Drain off excess fat. Add tomato sauce, lentils, mushrooms, water, chili powder and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.

Step 2
Add vinegar and simmer 15 minutes.
