Barbequed Curried Chicken Burgers with Yogurt Sauce

Succulent on toasted wholegrain buns, piled with vegetable toppings.

Ingredients

  Yogurt sauce  
clove garlic, finely chopped
1/4 tsp fresh ginger, grated 1 ml
1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup 22 ml
  juice and finely grated zest of one lime  
1 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt 310 ml
  Burgers  
1 lb ground chicken 454 g
french shallot or green onion, chopped
clove garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tsp ground turmeric 2.5 ml
1 or 2 tbsp curry powder 15 or 25 ml
1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped 50 ml
  a small drizzle of olive oil  

Instructions

Step 1
Sauce: Stir all sauce ingredients together in a bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside.

Step 2
Patties: In another bowl, combine chicken with remaining ingredients. Lightly oil hands and form 4 patties. Oil patties and season surface. Barbecue 12 to 15 minutes or until chicken is cooked.
