Energy Balls

Ingredients

1 cup raw whole almonds 250 mL
1 cup whole hazelnuts or other nut 250 mL
1cup pitted Medjool dates (about 12) 250 mL
1cup golden raisins 250 mL
2 tbsp pure maple syrup 30 mL
1 tsp ground cinnamon 5 mL

Instructions

Step 1
In the bowl of a food processor, pulse together almonds and hazelnuts until they are finely ground.

Step 2
Add dates, raisins, maple syrup and cinnamon; pulse until thick sticky dough forms.

Step 3
Using a tbsp (15 mL) roll mixture into balls and place on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Get the kids involved! They’ll have fun rolling the dough into bite sized balls.

Step 4
Place in the refrigerator for about 1 hour or until they are chilled.

These energy balls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 1 month.
