2014 Kids Recipe Challenge winning recipe: 3rd Place!

Ingredients

an apple
a pear
  a pinch of ground cinnamon
1/3 cup peanut, soy or other nut butter 75 mL
1 tbsp liquid honey 15 mL
2 tbsp unsweetened flaked coconut or crushed peanuts   30 mL
This is an easy snack to get the kids involved in and creating with the use of their food imagination. Mix and match favourite toppings, like dried cranberries, raisins or diced dried apricots. For some added crunch try using your favourite cereal as a topper.

Instructions

Step 1
Cut the apple and pear into long strips to resemble fries and place on large plate. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Step 2
In a small microwaveable bowl, heat peanut butter and honey for 30 seconds or until melted. Stir until smooth and drizzle over “fries”.

Step 3
Sprinkle with coconut and serve.

Tips

If you just feel like fries and dip, omit the drizzling step and coconut and dip your fruit fries into the peanut butter mixture.
